Student-Art Award

Student-Art Award & Scholarship

The club awards an award and scholarship to one art student from Warren County and Skyline High Schools.  Students are nominated by the fine arts department faculty.

The Warren County award is named in memory Betsy Blauvlet and the Skyline High School award is named in honor of Kym Crump.

The scholarship endowment is housed at the Community Foundation of the Northern Shenandoah Valley.  You can make a donation here.

  • Betsy Blauvelt

    Betsy Blauvelt was the music director of the Front Royal United Methodist Church for over 40 years.  She also served as the founding executive director of the Blue Ridge Arts Council and director of the Wayside Theater in Middletown, Virginia.  Betsy was very active in the Front Royal Little Theater and taught piano for over 25 years.  She served as president of our club during the 2010-2011 Rotary year.

  • Kym Crump

    Kym Crump is the current director of the Blue Ridge Arts Council.  Kym is a major advocate for the arts in the community and has introduced new programs to our community like our Friday Night Gazebo gatherings during the summer and displaying student are in the BRAC gallery.  Kym was president of our club during the 2018-2020 Rotary year.
